The Ojai Group

The Ojai Group consists of four professional women artists whose purpose is to create a community where artistic play and experimentation are fostered and encouraged. Although they come from different backgrounds and work in different styles, they are united in their love of excellence, joy in painting and affection for one another. They believe that the energy they have created through their unconditional acceptance, respect and honesty affects the work they do and is visible in their shows. Being doulas to each others work, they bring forth the best in each other. They are the founders and core of Open Studio, an atelier environment that meets in Ojai - other artists are invited to participate, and the support for individual processes, good humor and genuine feedback rule the day.  They offer classes and workshops and sponsor events such as the 2008 Ojai Evening Plein Air sessions.

They are all members of the California Gold Coast Watercolor Society, the Santa Barbara Art Association, the Los Padres Art Association of Santa Barbara  and the National Watercolor Society. Over the years they have shown their work together at The Thousand Oaks Community Gallery, The Ojai Center for the Arts, Gallery 113 in Santa Barbara and at the annual Ojai Alternative Studio Tour. Individually they have exhibited all over the United States and each, on her own, is an award winning artist.
