The Ojai Group

Watercolor is my medium of choice .  I love its fluidity, richness and unpredictablitly - it has a mind of its own. Plein air painting is the discipline that undergirds all my artistic work . The crunch of time and weather grounds me and keeps me in the now. The deep relationship to our environment developed by paying close attention fuels my work in the imaginal realm.

Currently I am fascinated by the labor intensive, gritty, and always surprising  work of ink resist, often combining it with collage, sometimes stitching pieces together. Whether the subject is landscape, people, or the vegetables in my own back yard, my work is intense and personal. Having had a private practice as an Art Therapist for over 20 years I am continually amazed by the power of art to heal us and connect us to our deepest self and  to each other.
