Learn to Critique Workshop
with Cathy Quiel
Saturday, October 16, 2010
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
at The Van Dyke Studio
835 W. Lomita Ave.
Ojai, CA 93023
Fee: $45
Learn to critique your own work and the work of others. Cathy will demonstrate her method of critiquing and instruct us on how to take our paintings to the next level. Each participant will receive a packet of useful information from Cathy plus a personal review of 1-3 of their paintings. Everyone will greatly benefit from hearing each of the sessions. Cathy will talk about the elements of design and answer these common questions: Is the painting done yet? What is wrong with the composition? Should I continue or throw it away?
The workshop will begin at 9am when participants will drop their art (1-3 pieces) off in the studio for Cathy to review. Brunch, included in the workshop fee, will be served under the oaks while Cathy is familiarizing herself with the work. The critique will start around 10:00 am, with a break at noon, continuing until 2:00 pm. Class size is limited and the workshop is open to artists of all media.
You may register on-line at www.pattyvandyke.com or mail your Name, Address, Phone and Email, with your check, to: Patty Van Dyke, P.O. Box 300, Ojai, CA 93024
